Time Managment

Being a full time student and working full time i have learned to manage my time wisely.

Just like goal setting it is important to make lists....I make a list for everything!
At the begining of the week I write in my planner when I work and when I have school. I then make a list of the homework I need to complete that week. Because I work all day I usually need to complete all of my homeowork on my day off. Even though its in my nature to procrastinate and do ithe night before the assignment is due I know ill regret it later when i cant find the time.

Staying Motivated

What strategies can you employ to remian motivated to achieve your goal?

1. Make a list.
This list can be short term and long term goals. Writing down what you want to accomplish can help you stay focused.

2. Think of the end result.
Think about how happy you will feel as soon as you do accomplish your goals.

3. Start with the easiest thing on your list first.
Checking things off of your list can motivate you to accomplish the other things listed

Setting Goals

Why is setting goals and priorities important?

The main importance of goal setting is that it provides us direction and purpose. When we set goals, we will know what we want to achieve so that we can focus our mind on one goal and not get distracted.

My Top Stressers In My Life

1. Work. I am a server in a fast pace restaurant. Working under so much pressure can make me stressed inside and outside of work.

2. School. Because I do work full time I find it very stressful to find the time to do homework and study.

3. Finances. I do live on my own with a lot of bills to pay as well as school to pay for. Im alwasy stressed out about having enough money to pay my bills for the month.

4. Traffic. I commute and being stuck in rush hour traffic is stressful as well as constantly worried about being late to where I am going.

To deal with these stressers in my life I make lists. I make lists everyday of what i need to get done now and in the future. It helps me clear my head and leaves me a little bit less stressed.

What Ive learned from Chapter 3

What i have learned in this chapter that i think i can most benefit from is understanding the value of working with diverse people. The "Put it to work" problem really made me think about working with others that may be different than me or people that I have heard rumors about. I think it is important to make the best of each situation and learn from those that are different from you. Everyone has knowledge that they can contribute to a group.

Areas of growth for the Fal 2012 semester:

I hope to be more focused in my school work, I tend to let everything else in my life come before studying and homework. I feel like i am finally in a place where i can give 100% this semester. Im extremely hard working and organized I just need to learn to bring those good qualities about myself into the classroom. I have finally found what i want to do as a career and now it is time to finally finish school and move on to bigger and better things.

Im very excited to take the Office Technologies and Procedures class because this is an area that i think i need the most help in. Learning the basics about how an office runs is very important.
